ONE TOOL. A SPECIFIC JOB.

Privacy for the connection.
Not a promise of invisibility.

A VPN encrypts traffic routed between your device and its server. Websites generally see the server’s IP address instead of your usual one. That can add privacy on unfamiliar networks, but it changes who you trust rather than removing trust altogether.

Hotel & airport Wi-Fi

Add an encrypted tunnel for traffic covered by the VPN. Confirm the real network name with staff and keep using HTTPS websites.

Your travel devices

Set up the app on the devices you will bring. Check the current plan, operating-system support and device allowance before paying.

When a connection drops

NordVPN offers disconnect protection. Its name, settings and behavior vary by platform, so test your own device before departure.

THE HONEST PART

A VPN is one layer.
Keep the others.

  • It does not make you anonymous. Signed-in accounts, cookies and device signals can still identify you.
  • It does not replace software updates, strong passwords, multi-factor authentication or care with links and downloads.
  • It does not provide internet access. You still need Wi-Fi or mobile data, and a VPN can reduce connection speed.
  • It does not guarantee access to a service or content. Follow local law, network rules and the service’s terms.

CONSIDERING NORDVPN?

Check the details.
Then decide.

NordVPN describes encrypted VPN connections, a no-logs policy independently reviewed by third parties, and platform-specific disconnect protection. An audit is evidence about its scope and time, not a guarantee about every future connection.

Compare the total billed today, renewal price, subscription length, cancellation process and refund conditions on the provider’s site. Features depend on your plan and device.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you connect.

Is a VPN the same as an eSIM?

No. An eSIM plan can provide mobile data where it has coverage. A VPN uses an existing internet connection to route covered traffic through an encrypted tunnel. Compare your connectivity needs.

What if the hotel Wi-Fi login page won’t open?

Public Wi-Fi may require a captive-portal sign-in before a VPN can connect. Follow NordVPN’s instructions for your device, avoid sensitive activity while disconnected, then reconnect and restore protection before browsing. Read the official captive-portal guide.

Will it work everywhere I travel?

No service can promise that. Network restrictions, local rules and device differences can affect availability. Check official local guidance and the provider’s current support information before your trip. Keep important travel documents available offline.

Should I use it for work abroad?

Follow your employer’s travel and device-security policies. A personal VPN is not a replacement for an approved work VPN, and some employers restrict where or how you access their systems.
