Three days in Paris: museums, neighborhoods and time between
Reserve the visit you care about, compare a pass with your actual plans and keep space for Paris at street level.

Put the river and historic center together, choose a major museum for a separate day, then leave a neighborhood day that can move with the weather. Four nights give the arrival and departure their own breathing room.
Connect the actual airport to your chosen base
CDG is the selected airport for this example. Orly uses a different connection. The regional transport authority distinguishes airport travel tickets from ordinary city journeys, so check the ticket that covers your actual airport, route and party before buying a pass.
Choose the accommodation area before choosing the airport transfer. Compare the station-to-door part, stairs or lifts, and the service at your arrival time. A late landing is a reason to keep the first evening simple, not a reason to reserve a timed museum ticket immediately after arrival.
Choose the base that fits your days
The central river neighborhoods: Compare a base here when historic walks and the river lead the trip. Check the exact street, room access and airport connection rather than assuming all central addresses work equally well.
Saint-Germain or the Latin Quarter: Consider this for a Left Bank neighborhood stay. Review the route to your main museum and the room’s stairs, lift and noise conditions.
Montmartre: Choose it for time in that neighborhood rather than as a promise of easy access to every sight. Hills, steps and the airport-to-room route deserve a careful check.
Day 1: The Seine and a compact historic-center walk
Use the river as the first full day’s organizing line. Choose a short walk near Île de la Cité and the surrounding central streets, with a meal and a pause rather than a long series of timed entrances. Any church, monument or boat experience should be chosen for its actual access and inclusions.
Leave the route movable until you know what the group wants to do. If a river cruise is the main outing, confirm the actual quay and boarding time. If everyone prefers walking, use an exterior route and keep paid visits for another day; a worthwhile first day does not require several purchases.
Day 2: One museum, then space around the visit
Choose the Louvre or another museum that matters to you and build this day around its real reservation. The Louvre asks visitors to review its opening calendar, entrance information and gallery closures; selecting a time does not mean every gallery is available. Do not assume that one museum pass guarantees every desired slot.
Keep the rest of the day near the museum or the river instead of pairing two major collections simply because both appear on the wish list. Decide which few sections you most want to see, take a proper break, and let the afternoon stay flexible if the visit lasts longer than expected.
Day 3: Choose your neighborhood: Montmartre or the Left Bank
Choose one neighborhood for the final full day. Montmartre gives the trip a different terrain and outlook; the Latin Quarter and Saint-Germain offer another way to spend time on the Left Bank. They are alternatives for this plan, not instructions to cross the city repeatedly to complete both.
Choose a short route, a meal and one optional interior stop. In wet weather, use a museum or covered cultural visit after checking its actual opening arrangements. Keep any evening performance close to the final plan and check tomorrow’s bag collection and airport route before going out.
Keep the return connected
Keep the airport, terminal and local departure time with the return journey. CDG and Orly are different destinations, and a local city ticket should not be assumed to cover either airport.
Ask the accommodation about checkout and bags. Keep a final neighborhood stop near a realistic bag collection point, then use current transport information and the airline’s guidance to choose when to leave.
