TRIP PLANNING

Plan a beach vacation that feels like a break

Choose your coast, compare the full journey and leave room for weather, beach days and a comfortable stay.

Scenery for Beach vacations

Start with the kind of day you want: a walkable beach town, an island stay or a hotel close to quieter sand. Then connect the airport, accommodation and a few things you would enjoy doing.

01

Choose the beach and the base together

An attractive room price is only one part of the choice. Check where the accommodation is, how you will reach the beach and whether the journey works for the people traveling. A beach-view photograph does not establish beach access.

Keep your first day simple. Save the accommodation and airport ride before a timed outing so flight changes do not consume the whole day.

Confirm the exact beach entrance and walking route.
Compare the room total, transport and any parking or access charges.
Check the actual room occupancy and cancellation terms.
02

Keep one day flexible

Choose one or two outings you would be happy to reserve, and leave another part of the stay open. Swimming, boat trips and outdoor visits depend on local conditions; a destination photo is not a forecast.

Check current beach conditions and local instructions.
Use the operator’s actual weather and cancellation terms.
Keep an indoor or sheltered alternative near your stay.
03

Plan checkout and the journey home

Hotel checkout, a late flight and a final beach day are three different timings. Record where your bags can stay and choose the return transfer against your actual flight check-in requirements.

Confirm luggage storage with the accommodation.
Record the return pickup location and local time.
Keep tickets and confirmed costs together in My Trip.
04

Beach safety, sun and storm season

Swim at lifeguarded beaches where you can and learn the local flag system on arrival; colours and meanings differ between countries. Rip currents can form on calm-looking days. If caught, swim parallel to the shore rather than against the current, as the National Weather Service explains.

In the Atlantic and Caribbean, hurricane season covers several months of the year. Booking then is common and can work well, but read the accommodation and flight cancellation terms for named storms and follow official forecasts rather than social media.

Learn the local beach flag meanings on day one.
Read storm-related cancellation terms before booking.
Pack reef-friendly sun protection and a hat.
